The Belarusian Helsinki Committee appealed to the Chairman of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus, Vadim Zaitsev, requesting to return the property exempted during the search in connection with the “19 December mass riot” case.

According to spring96.org, former presidential candidate, according to the decision of the court of Shklovsky district , which took place today, was sentenced to three years in prison of closed type. Now politician will serve the sentence in the chamber. His wife Marina Adamovich was not allowed to be present on judicial sitting . This was due to the fact that the hearing was closed.

WARSAW, 10 November 2011 – The trials conducted in the aftermath of the 19 December 2010 presidential election in Belarus highlighted the need for a substantial reform of the country’s justice system, Ambassador Janez Lenarčič, the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) said today following the publication of a report on the findings of ODIHR’s trial monitors.
